Departing for Germany: first traveling day

After departing DFW, this was the layover at Heathrow (London) airport in the grand terminal.

Complete with a Harry Potter store!

Enjoyed watching Crazy, Rich Asians on the flight. A really sweet romantic film. The on flight map kept passengers informed about our location in ‘the friendly skies’.

Landing at Berlin Tegel airport was fine and my trusted ‘travel companions’ (aka: orange suitcase, green North Face backpack, and rolling green duffle… packed with Girl Scout cookies) arrived safely.

Our National rental car helper. Very kind!

On the road to Rugen, Germany’s largest island in the Baltic Sea. A 3.5 hour drive in a cold, driving rain, through rolling green pasture land, windmill farms, and over bridges to reach Binz on the coast. More later.
