For almost twenty years, I’ve nurtured the idea to write a book about the natural world and humans’ participation in protecting our shared planet. Through many life events, setbacks, and learning moments, my book Natural Abundance: One Family’s Journey to Cultivate a Sustainable Lifestyle, has come to life in eBook and ‘real’ book form.

Sarah and I both enjoyed a childhood rooted in the outdoors and found ourselves driven by the idea that how we live matters. And we each found ways to live out those values over the years, not just for ourselves, but for the planet we all share and that our children will inherit. –Terri Arthur-Lane (Natural Abundance, Foreword)

This book is dedicated to my adventurous grandmother, Anna Katherine (A.K.) Dunsmore Heinzelmann. She was a kind soul who invited her friends and family into the vast playground of the Pacific Northwest (Washington state, Oregon, and British Columbia). Read more about her positive influence in the book.

It’s a personal memoir, but I intentionally kept it ‘not too personal,’ so readers could see themselves in my journey and perhaps even find their voice in sharing their own experiences in nature. This landing page is concise because the book contains a lifetime of information about my life.

Caring for Our Natural World Begins at Home

Raising a busy family in a fast-paced modern world that seems oblivious to humanity’s detrimental impact on our shared planet worries you. This disconnection from the natural world breeds a lack of respect for Earth, which sustains your family and all life.

You desire to educate your family about incorporating sustainable, eco-friendly, and Creation Care practices into your everyday routine, so your family will contribute to efforts to protect our shared planet.

Imagine turning your home into a hub of learning and action, where simple and fun eco-friendly activities bring your family together with the shared goal of contributing to your community’s conservation and preservation efforts. Not only will this save time and money, but it will also foster a deeper connection with nature and each other.

In Sarah Heinzelmann Andersen’s book, readers will:

  • Understand the importance of connecting to our Natural World.
